Liability: I understand that I am registering for a program that may involve activities that create a risk of physical, emotional and/or psychological harm or injury. I understand that in a group setting, the presenter cannot always monitor my physical, emotional or psychological limits and/or condition. I understand that I am solely responsibility for assessing the risk of any activity that I engage in at any Hoʻi ka Hā / Hawaiʻi Children’s Action Network (HKH) in-person program location, and for choosing a safe course of action for myself.

I agree to assume the risk and responsibility for any injuries or damages suffered by me as a result of my participation in any program. I also understand that I must read the Liability Waiver & Release prior to registering for any program. Failure to agree to and comply with the Liability Waiver & Release and Terms & Conditions will prohibit my participation in the program for which I am registered and all payments made by me for this program will be forfeited.

Medical Conditions: It is my sole responsibility to inform HKH of any medical condition(s) that may affect me while attending a program on campus. I understand that the nearest pharmacy and professional medical care is at least 25 minutes away. It is my responsibility to ensure that I have enough of any medication I may be taking for the entire duration of my stay. I accept full responsibility for my mental and physical wellbeing while in this environment. I have consulted with my healthcare provider about any concerns I have, prior to registering for my program.

It is necessary that participants, HKH staff, and in-person program location staff be reasonably healthy both physically and mental. If I am currently being treated by a physician or other health care professional, I agree that I will take all medication and follow all instructions and limitations given by those professionals while I am at the Center.

In consideration of being permitted to spend time at the in-person program location, I knowingly grant to HKH and its officers, board members, agents, employees and volunteers, a complete, total and unequivocal release of any and all liability for any adverse mental or physical injury that may result directly or indirectly from my time at the in-person program location. This release includes claims for personal injury, property loss or damage, or wrongful death caused by any act or omission by HKH. This release also includes any claim for loss or damage as a result of leaving my possessions or property with HKH or the in-person program location.

Emergency Medical Care: I understand that the in-person program location or HKH is not responsible for providing emergency medical care during my visit. If the retreat location or HKH determines that emergency medical services are required for myself or anyone under my care, I authorize the retreat location or HKH to arrange such care solely at my own expense.

Food Allergies: In regard to food allergies, I understand that I am responsible for knowing whether any ingredients to which I am allergic exist in any foods that are prepared by retreat location. If I am uncertain about the ingredients of these foods, I am responsible for learning that information from a staff person at the retreat location who has prepared or overseen the preparation of such food.

Recording Devices: The use of recording devices is strictly forbidden. The rights to such presentations are reserved to HKH and/or the presenter.

I understand that abiding by these terms and conditions are a requirement for participating in any program produced by HKH.

All that we offer at Hoʻi ka Hā is rooted in ALOHA, a living expression born of the Kanaka Maoli, the Indigenous people of Hawaiʻi. We acknowledge that Hawaiʻi is ʻāina ʻōiwi (ancestral land) and that the Hawaiian people continue to carry, protect, and evolve their wisdom despite histories of displacement. We commit to honoring their language, culture, and sovereignty, and to walking our practice with humility, gratitude, and kuleana. © Copyright - Hoʻi ka Hā.
