Please read. All guests are required to agree and to comply with the Hoʻi ka Hā / Hawaiʻi Children’s Action Network (HKH) Liability Release and Terms & Conditions by clicking on the check box on the Program Registration Order Form prior to participating in any HKH program.

I intend to participate in a HKH program. I understand that as a condition of my participation, I am requested to provide this Release from Liability to HKH, and I wish to do so as my voluntary act.

I understand that any in-person HKH program may have significant, unavoidable risks of harm, up to and including severe personal injury or death. I have had the opportunity to consider the risks that I am assuming by participating in an in-person HKH program. Understanding these risks, I accept full responsibility for my own wellbeing and safety while participating in said in-person HKH program.

If bringing any minors, I understand that I am fully responsible for the safety and conduct of these children. I understand that HKH will not provide supervised childcare; therefore I am fully responsible for minors under my care.

Medical Conditions: It is my sole responsibility to inform HKH of any medical condition(s) that may affect me while attending a program on campus. I understand that the nearest pharmacy and professional medical care is at least 25 minutes away. It is my responsibility to ensure that I have enough of any medication I may be taking for the entire duration of my stay. I accept full responsibility for my mental and physical wellbeing while in this environment. I have consulted with my healthcare provider about any concerns I have, prior to registering for my program.

It is necessary that participants, HKH staff, and in-person program location staff be reasonably healthy both physically and mentally. If I am currently being treated by a physician or other health care professional, I agree that I will take all medication and follow all instructions and limitations given by those professionals while I am at the Center.

In consideration of being permitted to spend time at the in-person program location, I knowingly grant to HKH and its officers, board members, agents, employees and volunteers, a complete, total and unequivocal release of any and all liability for any adverse mental or physical injury that may result directly or indirectly from my time at the in-person program location. This release includes claims for personal injury, property loss or damage, or wrongful death caused by any act or omission by HKH. This release also includes any claim for loss or damage as a result of leaving my possessions or property with HKH or the in-person program location.

Emergency Medical Care: I understand that HKH is not responsible for providing emergency medical care during my visit. If HKH determines that emergency medical services are required for myself or minors under my care, I authorize HKH to arrange such care solely at my own expense. I agree to pay or reimburse HKH for all such expenses immediately upon request.

Vehicle Damage: I understand HKH is not responsible for any damage caused to vehicles while at any program or retreat location. I release HKH for any damage done to my vehicle because of rugged terrain, weather, wildlife, other vehicles, and all other sources of damage.

With these understandings, I agree that to the fullest extent permitted by law, I release HKH, its directors, employees and representatives from liability for any damages or losses on account of personal injury, whether physical or psychological, up to and including death, to me or my children, or damage to my property suffered from any cause while I am present at an in-person program produced by HKH. This release does not, however, include injury suffered due to the negligence of HKH.

I have read these terms and agree to provide a signed Release from Liability to the HKH staff upon my arrival at the in-person program location, prior to participating in any program. I understand that failure to provide a signed release could prohibit my participation in the program for which I am registered, and that all payments made by me for this program will be forfeited.

All that we offer at Hoʻi ka Hā is rooted in ALOHA, a living expression born of the Kanaka Maoli, the Indigenous people of Hawaiʻi. We acknowledge that Hawaiʻi is ʻāina ʻōiwi (ancestral land) and that the Hawaiian people continue to carry, protect, and evolve their wisdom despite histories of displacement. We commit to honoring their language, culture, and sovereignty, and to walking our practice with humility, gratitude, and kuleana. © Copyright - Hoʻi ka Hā.
